She's Here!

Well after an induction and 21 hours of labor, our little Hailey Marie has arrived! She finally joined us on June 15th at 6:03am weighing in at 5lbs. 7oz. and was 18.5 inches long. The labor and delivery went very well, I had a wonderful support system both at the hospital and from those of you at home so we are grateful for all of you! I would personally like to tell Jonathan and Katie that I love you both very much and couldn't have done so well throughout the labor with out the two of you. You guys were amazing! We went into the hospital at 7am on Saturday and they started out giving me two doses of cytotec at 9am that were 3 hours apart. By 3pm my contractions were close enough together and consistent enough that they didn't feel the need to give me a third (three doses is typical). However my contractions slowly started to spread further and further apart so they started me on pitocin help get the labor going. To make a long story short, I was dilated to 4cm and was 80% effaced by 2am when the pitocin started to stack my contractions. Meaning I didn't have any time to rest in between contractions so I decided to get some pain meds that lasted about an hour and a half. Because the contractions hadn't gotten any better, I decided to have an epidural. They gave me the epidural at 4am and by 5am I was ready to push! I started pushing at 5:30am and little miss Hailey arrived at 6:03am partially by the hands of her father! Yes, Jonathan got to help deliver her, cut the cord, lay her on my chest and help me clean her off. It was an amazing experience for both of us.

I am so glad that you now get to hold your sweet little girl in your arms. I can't wait to meet her and introduce our little Sterling to her. They will be buddies when we move up there! :) Congratulations Molly and Jonathan! Welcome Hailey!
